The Isolation Project

The Isolation Project was inspired by the intersection of family, food, and history. The musical arrangements of Carlos Gardel’s famous tango ‘El Dia Que Me Quieras’ and the Italian canzonetta, ‘Anema E Core’, serve as a backdrop for the tableaux created and filmed by Romi Gold. The video follows the story of family patriarchy, depicting the patriarch’s greatest loves: opera, art, and food. These are the stories that live within all of our family recipes.

The Elevator Project

DB Project presents Try Me, a production highlighting and celebrating women finding solidarity and strength by taking back their narrative. In these performances, we will collaborate with a variety of local artists to combine music, poetry, dance, and spoken monologue. By weaving together different artistic mediums, DB Project hopes to create an accessible platform for audiences to absorb these stories. These works​ ​remain​ ​especially pertinent today because of our social climate and critical issues such as discrimination, sexuality, race, and gender, and it is becoming increasingly important for artists to present works that relate to current issues and events.

To co-opt the sentiment of Anne Boleyn, “Go ahead and try us, we dare you.”
